DJI Inspire 2 recovery bundle

This is a recovery bundle for DJI Inspire 2.

Bundle comes with all required components except launch radio and battery.

Installation to copter is directly to Extended device mounting position (Inspire 2 manual page 9) with four T8 Torx screws (same tool fits to original screws). Screws are included. 

This bundle includes 1 meter Shock cord (extension rope) which increases distance from parachute to copter. When parachute flies far apart from the copter is tangling risk minimized even propellers are spinning.

This is very solid mount and fits perfectly in balance at center of the aircraft. Inspire 2 sensors and GPS has completely free field of view with recovery system installed.

Bundle comes with V3 Pro Trigger which supplies 5V/0.5A for radio receiver.

Parachute launch radio should supply standard RC PWM - signal. If radio can control normal RC servo it can eject parachute launcher.

Specs

Weight of mounting kit, launcher and our best parachute IFC-48-SUL is 300 grams. With typical small receiver full "ready to use" installation weight is 400 grams.

Special option for additional gimbal mounting

 

Inspire 2 mount has as standard mounting holes for FeiYu Tech Mini 3D gimbal. Gimbal is positioned behind main gimbal (X4S) using max 50 mm stand offs. Extra camera could have view of sight from below horizon to directly down, or record main camera work for "making of" - film.

This additional gímbal makes it possible to use for instance modified NDVI Gopro for vegetation health inspection or FLIR DUO thermal camera same time when main camera is in use. Sensor view under the Inspire 2 could be affected when extra gimbal is in use.

General information

Reliable performance in all weather conditions

Patented Fuse technology has a working temperature range of -25°C - +50°C (-13°F - +122°F). Absence of moving parts in the release mechanism offers unbeatable reliability, even in freezing temperatures.

No explosives, gases or mechanical servos

Parachute is ejected by a high strength spring which is held down by a Skycat Fuse®. It is released by electricity, which burns the Fuse and releases the piston. No permits are required to transport Skycat system via airlines. Skycat Fuse® mechanism is designed to stand still armed for prolonged time and wait for eject command whereas servo is designed to move!

Center of gravity

Weight is distributed on both sides of the copter, allowing more natural center of gravity and more stable flight characteristics.

Powerful "like a bullet" eject

Parachute is shot far from airframe with extension rope, shock cord. With shock cord shroud lines can be inside of the "bullet" and are safe from spinning propels. This method reduces risk of entanglement.
